so 2006 wasn't my best year, i was missing ireland for all of it and just not in the right place. it was a very tough year at school with the last year pretty much being education classes and observations in the spring and then this fall was ed block. but i've survived it. but i've decided that i'm putting the past behind me and i'm now living in the present and looking towards the future. 2006 was a big year for me and dealing with change, but as sad as i was about missing ireland, i was having a blast back at wac with my friends.
january - was a very rough month, getting used to being back, especially at home. subbed a lot over break. so excited to be back at wac and seeing everyone after 8 months away. dealing with the month of being home and completely missing ireland. began all my classes and met megan in geography where we became friends over talking about ireland and everyone we knew.
february - was crazy...recruitment and crew kicked off the first week of february. and zeta was kinda crazy with a bad recruitment and only getting 11 girls and having to crown 9 girls over the next few months. crew was alright with less erging than in the past and getting out on the water early, but only having a 4. also birthday ball fun :) always a great night. starting to do research on my for fun paper for the chestertown essay contest. and all my fun at the high school observing my classes and all my internship applications.
march - little got a little, so natalie became my glittle for zeta :) but i broke my camera.. which was very sad. lots of crew and zeta and school work. florida was crazy, but a lot of fun. it was warm and i was able to sit out and read lots, with some hilarious practices, including the ever famous going through the bridge sideways and dport walking on water.. but florida is always fabulous :) super busy with all my classwork, observations and life.
april - was crew crazy with regattas every weekend. the bucket 4! but also so many problems with my lack of motivation boat. i had never been so frusterated with crew. i hated going to practice and i wanted to quit so many times. i just missed hiking. the fab easter weekend of going to annapolis for easter and the saturday night crazyness. the easter egg hunt on the quad, the easter bunny wars between walburn and tom. the quick trip to nyc for the job interview. knecht cup in jersey and the i've never been so wet in my life regatta, getting the comegys bight fellowship to do research this summer :) getting garrett c for senior year with megan, emmy and lindser, i won the international photo contest at school with my picture of the sheep at dingle, and i also got my job in north caroline working at the academic summer camp. and i ended the month with the awesome gettysburg trip with the cv starr centre.
may - as usual it started out with may day fun, the end of the semester was easy for once with no real finals, just projects and chats with my o'connor. being elected captain of the crew team! then ecac's for crew and the second super wet weekend for crew. saying goodbye to everyone at school and then leaving chestertown, for once it was not sad to leave chestertown. but the scary part was i'm now a senior! came home and was subbing through may at the three schools. the best night of my life at the washington college book prize at mt. vernon and how amazing it was. and i ended may with going to princeton with my mom to watch the ncaa rowing championship where princeton was amazing!
june - subbed through the month, doing research for my thesis and got to play with twin, started scrapbooking ireland, computer issues and getting a new one, kelly graduating, six months since leaving ireland, canoe adventure with twin, chestertown fun with amy on my way to nort carolina, the fab time meeting everyone in north carolina and staff week.
july - was having a grand time in north carolina. loved the people i was working with, during the day i would be doing research or helping teachers, after dinner lead my evening activity and at night laugh with the staff and watch dvd's and eat popcorn. then july 11and 12 when i found out everything, that marcus had been cheating on me for 5 months... tried to enjoy my last two weeks in north carolina and have fun with the rest of the staff.saying goodbye to everyone and my awesome 21at birthday in dc with hilary!
august - was back in jersey but travleing all over for research, the fab time at ellis island and the statue of liberty and the amazingness of ellis island being one of the first people there in the morning, finding the kittens! going to uconn and boston to do research and also seeing susan and my love jclark for fun nights on the town!, not thinking about when he should have been visitng me, musuem of natural history fun with the dinosaurs and nyc in the summertime :) starting my senior year of college, starting ed block and student teaching, first day of high school and the year i left for ireland on the same day, which started off my semester of remembering everything, the first edblock happy hour at the bird and you've lost that loving feeling, and finallly getting a new digital camera which i love love love.
september - the start of 5 weeks of edblock classes and getting to know everyone so well, t-rex and just being crazy silly for 5 weeks from 8.30-4.30, surviving academies, crew party crazyness, andy's martini thursday night fun, the day i wore a hot pink toga all day around campus for edblock, the book prize night on campus and then andy's with the cv starr centre groupies and adam, such a fab night, finding out the truth about annie moore! the most fabulous weekend ever! NORTH CAROLINA for RASCAL FLATTS with jeanne, kaity and amy!, making a big mistake with jared, crew starting up for the fall semester
october - started out the month with remembering my first hike, finishing up the 5 weeks at college, edblock does dc,really starting student teaching, going home for a weekend to see rascal flatts with my parents, the crazyness of teaching, crew and zta, the fab friday night of the smallest countries in the world, not having the schuylkill because of the weather..
november - happy hour fun with edblock goes bowling and then the amazing margartia night :) sooo great., amy and i going to downrigging and playong on boats, my final zta elections and seniors going to the bar on a monday night!, finshing my first chapter of my thesis! yay!, a fab weekend with townball, olive garden fun with my girls and then philly and a hot crew party,my students tearing me apart for the test but surviving, thanksgiving in jersey, my car breaking down on the del mem bridge...
december - ahhh, already another year has gone by, soo close to being done student teaching, noah's ark in delware, more fab martini nights at andy's, ending the semester with the redic jock jams/90s dance party and my favourite party of the semester little black dress wine and cheese, having my first breakdown but wine, breadsticks and love actually can cure anything, the amazing custom house chistmas party and opening a bottle of champagne with a sword from the war of 1812, last week of student teaching, a year of leaving and putting the ghosts behind me, being done with the hardest semester! back in jersey for christmas, nyc at christmas and working new years eve.
i'm really looking forward to 2007, i'm really a senior and getting excited about my future.
i'm not going to live in the past, i'm looking forward and i'm going to be happy this year.
i want to have one crazy awesome last semester, take advantage of everything and just live my life.
make dean's list again, finish my thesis by april, make honours on my thesis, graduate with honours,
crew this is my year, my 8 is going to be on fire, we will do well, we will have fun, we will be intense and we are going to NCAA
have fun with friends and just enjoy the times with them because they are quickly coming to an end
and do everything i can to be back in ireland next september.
2007 is about graduating and grad school.
