the US women's 8 won GOLD this morning!!!
such a great race. they took off from the start and never looked back. it was so awesome to watch their race. they won by about 2 seconds to the netherlands and then romania was third. it was a fabulous thing to wake up and watch this morning :)
the men's 8 won BRONZE this morning as well!
their race wasn't as good, they had a super slow start and after they first 500 they were last. i was seriously freaking out at this point, wondering if something broke or what. but they pulled it together in the middle of the race and with 500 to go were in third. canada won the race, with great britain .2 seconds ahead of the US. so it was a good race.
it was fabulous watching the medal ceremony, i was sad to see that mary whipple wasn't thrown in the water (maybe she was, but they didn't show it/ any pictures... the canadian coxswain was thrown in).
so watching that made me miss crew even more than i already do.

i've loved watching his races this week, and he is just adorable/hot as well.
i mean helllo, look at the abs on those guys... anyway, i've been enjoying the olympics :)
so in erin world things are going well. i wrote 1500 words of the introduction yesterday, and will write the other 1000 today, so after today it is just the conclusion and then editing! whoohoo! the word count is now at 17518! so i'm happy about that.
work is going well, getting busy because leaving cert results came out wednesday and university offers come out tomorrow, so lots of little first years (really their mom's) looking for housing. i found a house for myself as well. it is kind small, but the people seem nice, and the place was clean and it is close to work and the city centre. so it works. i'm not looking forward to moving again, gah!
it is POURING today, just constant rain. gah, i'm really getting sick of all of the rain. last night kara and i went out and we had a fun time. lots of laughing, and fun. i was her wingman for the night, which was funny because the guy i was talking with was so boring, the only reason i kept talking was because he was from belfast and i looove their accent.
so yea, it is time to get working on the thesis.
