last week in charleston

so i've been in the dc area for a few days now staying with friends, trying to find somewhere to live and had my first day of work! but before i get to all that here is my last week in charleston in pictures!

went to folly beach friday night for the sunset - i love the beach at night and it was just so nice to sit on a quiet beach and just read and take it in.

saturday morning i went downtown to the farmers market and walked around

then i met up with my zta friend elizabeth at sullivans island and we hung out at the beach for the afternoon and had to swim across the gully to actually get to the beach. yes - swim, it was over my head. pretty crazy! then saturday night i went out to dinner with the girls.

one of the things i wanted to do before i left charleston was walk the ravenel bridge. so sunday morning before i picked up my parents i walked the bridge!

so after picking up my parents & going to the tattooed moose for lunch we headed to patriots point as my dad loves battleships and the uss yorktown (a HUGE aircrafy carrier) is now a museum in charleston. the view of the ravenel from patriots point.

hanging out with a old fighter plane - being on a flight deck was really cool!

after the afternoon at the yorktown we went to sullivans island for a walk on the beach!

where i attempted to make my parents do a jump photo - they were hilarious!

us on the beach.

monday morning we headed out to fort sumter - here are my momma & i with the flags that all flew over ft. sumter

my parents and i at the fort - i had a great time telling them about all the civil war history (plus got my park passport stamps!) so after fort sumter we headed back towards my apartment for the plantations.

where we got to magnolia, walked around a little bit and while we were on the nature train seeing the property (where we saw so many alligators, even on on the path!) it started to POUR. so we got a little wet. and it continued to downpour for a while, so we cut our visit short. so after going home to change we headed out to walk around downtown charleston. so the plan for tuesday was to load the truck in the morning and then go back to magnolia in the afternoon and walk around downtown before driving a few hours north. butttt a new plan took place due to this!

so tuesday morning it was lightly raining but the forecast said it should be done by early morning but after getting the truck to my apartment it was POURING. by early morning we had gotten a few inches of rain and the drainage ditch behind my apartment was a river! and so we didn't do any thing except wait for the rain to stop - so we tried to leave my apartment to get lunch butttt we were a bit flooded. the water came up to my mid calf right outside my car and i wasn't driving until it went down a bit more. so it finally started to drizzle and the rain receded off the parking lot.

it was a little bit flooded.

but we started loading the truck at around 4 in a light rain and by 6 amy & i finished cleaning and turned in our keys. and my parents and i hit the road so we would have a few hours less driving to do.

so leaving charleston was hard - i love it there but i'm ready to start a new chapter in my life and SO excited about dc! (or will be once i have a place to live)

I'm so sad you're moving because I won't be able to look at your beautiful Charleston photos anymore!! That was our favorite part of Sullivan's Island--I liked to swim in that little tide pool because I figured there was less chance of sharks ;)
