the crazy

So somehow it has been almost a month since I last blogged. Oops! Life just got in the way. It has been a stressful and pretty crazy month between work and everything else going on. So here is the last month in pictures! Oh, and I've been in Denver since June 26th.

William Peace University campus
Fun day trip to Raleigh for work for a site visit. I'll be in Raleigh from July 18-August 3rd.

Range
shooting a 308 rifle
The boy took me to the range and I got to shoot some of the big guns! Had a fun afternoon at the range with him & his friends. And I shot pretty well too! This one in the picture I was aiming at a target 200m away. And I hit it! Woo!
Sister and I at Toby Keith & Kip Moore -
Toby Keith - Red Solo Cup
getting to meet Kip again!

Kip Moore signed ticket! I got to meet him in October when I saw
 him with  Eric Church

The little brother graduated from high school so I went home for that and the Toby Keith/Kip Moore concert with my momma & sister. It has also been 10 years since I graduated high school! Crazy!
the family... noone looking at the same camera
i am SO short!

Congrats little bro!
So my sister created this and took all the pictures from the house where we grew up. My parents officially moved June 25th. I will miss the gorgeous sunsets
home
So after my long weekend home for the concert & graduation - I was drove back home to Virginia, got in super late, went to work on Tuesday, had a date night with Chance and then I was up at 3:30 on Wednesday morning to catch my flight to Denver. And I'll be here in Denver until July 13th! We had a few days of prep before staff training started on Tuesday and the students arrive on Sunday! Crazy!
University of Denver's campus

But I did manage to have some fun and go frolic in the mountains! I went to Boulder and played around in the Flat Irons again - last year I went there with Annie when I visited her.
I love the Flat Irons!

So I wanted to go to Mt. Evans - it is the highest paved road in North America. I wanted to go last year but I went to Wyoming instead. So I had the brilliant idea to go around sunset, because that is one of my favorite times of the day. So I drove there, enjoying the drive and the mountains. I was super excited when I got to the bottom all ready to go up. Buuuut - the sunglare was SO bad and the tiny tiny mountain road with no guardrail and me realizing I would be driving down in the dark... Around 4 miles up I had to turn around. I was so mad at myself, but I knew I made the right choice for me at the time. I'll need to go back not at sunset. But I went back down and played along the edge of this lake.

the spot where I turned around - up Mt. Evans
And despite having to work on the 4th of July - one of my favorite holidays. America. I did go to see some fireworks! And I found a great show right outside of Denver. I was pretty impressed!

So hopefully the next time I write isn't August 3rd when I'm back home from my 6 weeks of being away for work. I love what I do, but 6 weeks is a LONG time to be away.

You've been so busy! :) It's been a while since I checked in here, but it looks like you're having a great time. And that's a huge rifle you've got there... I've done air pistol / air rifle shooting, but I've never fired a *real* gun.
