his week is one of my favourite weeks in college - sorority formal recruitment.
and i really miss it.
i loved everything about it - the chapter coming together, sharing my love of ZTA with prospective girls, the skits, the last few months of work coming together, the tshirts, informal party, formal party (my favourite thing), the slideshow, bid night and the thrill of finding out who your newest sisters are, the week was just amazing even thought there was no sleep, i was highly stressed, of course drama and who knows what else.
i loved it.
my freshman year i fell in love with these girls and the ideals, i remember coming back from the ZTA party monday night, knowing that is where i belonged... friday night waiting in the stairs with everyone else, being given my bid and asked to become a sister of ZTA, then walking into the chapter room and being jumped on by all the seniors screaming and clapping... the rest of that night was incredible. meeting the other women who would be my pledge class and i would get to know so well and share so many memories, and just being so excited and happy.
that was the best feeling, sophomore and junior year rushing girls during the week and waiting in the stairs, singing until finally one of our alumni let us know we could run to the chapter room, where we all were quickly scanning the room to see our newest girls and to see if the girls we loved were now our sisters. to senior year, and the bird before bid day and then finally getting new girls one at a time, singing and just being so excited every time another new sister entered, until the rest of the chapter came barging in...
and i miss it.
i saw some pictures of the girls at panhel tea, and i love the shirts this year. so adorable.
i just got an im, from my little, who was on her way out to informal party.
i wish there was an alumni chapter closer, that i could be more part of.
i am part of the UK/abroad chapter but it is hard, being so far away for events but i'll hopefully be going to an event in april in england.
but i miss the little things, pin attire tuesday's, letter thursday's, chapter on monday night...
but recruitment is my favourite thing.
i can't wait to hear how they did on bid night.
also i can't wait to wake up tomorrow to see what happened with the primaries today.
its been alllll over the news here today, like i've been hearing about it nonstop from all the irish press.
you would think there is no other news anywhere.
jersey's primary is today, i sent in my absentee ballot for hillary a few weeks ago, so we'll see what happens.
i would be happy with either hillary or obama, i like them both, a lot.
and today was pancake day/fat tuesday.
so at work when i was listening to the radio all they were talking about was pancakes. so i of course had a craving for them.
so after a few texts to kara, who had pancake mix, we made some amazing pancakes for lunch.
they were amazing.
seriously.
and then we did chicken curry for dinner.
it was a fabulous eating day.
