i'm on a boat

so my friends and i are slightly in love with t-pain's - i'm on a boat.

they've been on their i'm on a boat kick for a few weeks now, but as i'm new - i'm still excited about being on a boat, so anytime i'm on a boat i say to them - i'm on a boat.

so last night i was on a boat. i survived my first night sleeping on the ship. it did not blow up, no children threw up, i did not see the ghost, no other craziness. and i also survived a 28 hour day.
amanda and i had a fun day in the omfg rain. like torrential downpouring, like we were all supersexy in our waterproof pants, rainboots and jackets - so we were warm, dry and happy. this group of lovely high schoolers were not quite as well prepared, so they made it a bit harder, but overall it wasn't too bad of a group. and i'm enjoying it and still learning sooooo much! while maritime history isn't my love, it is pretty awesome!

sunday night was pretty sweet with the academy of country music awards. i LOOOVE country music and for the last almost 2 years my interaction with new country music was occasionally listening online to radio stations, but i would constantly check out itunes or the top 40 for good songs, so being able to see some of my favs perform was quite awesome. can i just say for the millionth time how much i LOVE taylor swift! seriously - girl crush. and my boys - rascal were amazing as usual, and carrie winning entertainer of the year! YAY! so it was amazing. and in more omg! RASCAL'S NEW CD COMES OUT TODAY!!!! i am SOOOOOO excited! i love here comes goodbye and after practice amy and i are going to get it!

and CAROLINA winning the championship last night! whoooohooooo! the game was pretty meh, though and i couldn't watch it. but i had it online in the office and was checking the score, but at halftime i was like right. if it was a close game i would have stayed up and watched it online, but not with a 20 point lead. if i had a tv - yes i would have but - oh well. i'm wearing my carolina hat today :) so overall i did pretty awesome in the brackets this year!

and in a few minutes i'm off to dress in a million and seven layers to go with amy to practice and coach some novice girls. YAY! and also i'm excited to wear cute clothes and heels tomorrow, as i'm in the office. the workboots and jeans make me sad.

i've got my swim trunks and flippy floppys....

This is the first time I've seen that video, due to SNL videos never lasting on the internets very long. And OMG, I'm laughing so hard I'm crying. That is the best video/song I've seen in a while. HEE!!

I'll be on a boat this weekend, and you can bet I'll be singing that song at some point! LOL.

What exactly does maritime history entail? I wonder if I could handle sleeping/staying on a boat. I always get really nauseous when I'm on boats, so maybe not...

Grrrrr, enjoy your national title as well... haha, I kid I kid

I too love the "I'm on a boat" song. I actually have the 'Incredibad' album with all of their other songs as well. Sadly, I think its been like 5+ years since I've been on a boat! Still, I can pretend when I rock out to the song.

Haha that video is hilarious! I hadn't seen it before I read your post, but I love it. Thanks for sharing!

Oh and your comment on my post made me laugh. The Twilight series really is like a car crash...but for some reason, you just can't stop reading. The characters pissed me off pretty much the whole time, yet the books were like crack to me. Not that I know what crack is like, but I'm guessing it's insanely addictive. Just like the Twilight books.

hey!

it took me a few days to amass all of the colored coffee filters (my roomie and i would color them while watching tv every night) but to actually make the dress, it probably took me a total of about 2.5 hours. I used a clear plastic dropcloth for the base, and then used duct tape to reinforce the edges (that's what the neon orange is!) and then i attached the coffee filters with double sided tape, layering them.

it was definitely a process, but i was happy with the outcome! :-)
