but it was interesting. it was great to see my favorite teachers and catch up with them. i talked for a while with me child development/cooking teacher, who i took 3 classes with and would talk with all the time in school, my favorite history teacher and biology teacher and said hi to a few other teachers i had. it is weird because most of my teacher's aren't there anymore because they have retired. my sister who is 3 years younger than i am, we only had a few teachers the same; and my little brother who is entering hs in the fall, will have even less probably!
but walking through the halls, seeing the students making out against lockers, the posters for diffeeent activities on the walls, the banners in the gym, the guy doing morning announcements... it all brought me back. it was cool to see the championship banners up in the gym and that field hockey was the only sport that had 2 because they filled the first one. and then seeing 1999,2001,2002 up on the banner the years my team won the county championship. and when i was the gym teacher and watching the kids play basketball/tennis, remembering when my friends and i had self directed tennis and we would play what we refered to as "penis tennis" where we would hold the raquet between our legs and hit the ball. or in the mornings before school when my friends and i would sit on "g level" and talk while finishing homework and talking sophomore year. or sitting in the senior lounge during lunch and talking and laughing with everyone.
so since i've been blogging since my sophomore year i've decided to share some of the random high school erin... so they are all from june, so right at the end of the year, since subbing in high school has really made me feel like i'm back in high school.

but i am glad not to be in high school any more! while it was fun and i had a good time for most of high school. i did well in my classes, liked most of my teachers. loved my sports and all the activities i did. but i don't want to go back. i would however go back to college in a heartbeat!

God Bless you for subbing!!! i applied for my certifcation when living in texas but never got to do it.
i always give subs a LOT more credit than teachers!
Ahh, high school. LOL. Those were certainly the days! I didn't have the greatest time, but my best memories all center around my BFF and I either going to the movies, going shopping in Vancouver, discovering new restaurants, and hanging out at each others' houses. Simple stuff, really, but we had a lot of fun together. :) I'm so glad we've stayed friends - I'd be lost without her. It's now been 11 years since I graduated from high school. Yikes! LOL.
favorite memory of HS? well, i have 2 - the first is when the Key Club took a trip to the international key club convention in Orlando - yeah, it was at Disney and it was AMAZING! and the second was senior year, the girls swim team had a HUGE meet against Madison (our big rivals) and we had a huge poster making party the night before, then got to the pool HOURS early and decorated it and did tons of chants and cheers ... and probably wasted all of our energy cause we lost the meet by ONE RELAY. but, it was SO MUCH FUN. oh, glory days
Oh wow- I LOVE those blogs/posts of yours from high school! They made me smile and laugh a little bit!
Whenever I think about going back to high school and a situation like that, I'm always reminded of the scene in Catcher in the Rye where Holden Caulfield goes back to his old school.
My favorite high school memories are, without a doubt, the plays and musicals I was in, and the musical my senior year was probably my favorite of them all. Oh nostalgia...
I actually had a great time throughout high school. I think it's great you had notes on your HS years. I wish I had kept more of a journal!
xx
That was a fun trip down memory lane! I loved high school but at the same time when it was over I was happy to move on to college and better things. A lot of my friends were reluctant to leave high school and even more just went to the local CC. I couldn't wait to go out of state and do something different!
Ah! I couldn't even imagine being a sub at my high school especially knowing all the teachers and everything! So crazy.
I really liked high school. I had a great group of friends and we always had a lot of fun with whatever we did. I wouldn't go back either though - there was way too much work.
I could however do college again!
