may already?

so i need to get better at updating. i'll work at that.

but so much going on and so many crazy things and just so little time to write. now that i'm at a computer all day the last thing i want is to be on a computer.

so let's start at the beginning. (a very good place to start)

work last week was good, i'm really enjoying it and excited for the summer and what i'll be doing! and then other than work, well it is taking me some time getting used to getting home so late. but i'm trying to be good and go running, but i hit the problem of eating/running. if i run before i eat i'm starving and not eating until super late, but then eating after running is not a good idea and then i'm running late... i really might try getting up at like 6 and going running - slightly cooler and then it will put me in a good mood in the morning. i wish i had a running buddy though to go with. oh well. i want to get back into running with a goal of a marathon in spring 2012.

so last week wasn't too crazy, but there was a bunch going on. my phone died on tuesday - which wasn't fun but luckily a quick trip to the verizon store resulted in a re-set and it was back to normal except i had to re-install all my apps (which was kinda annoying) but the 24 hours without a phone wasn't fun. letting the girl i've been carpooling with know i was running late couldn't happen, meeting a friend for dinner and just having to be on time and waiting outside her apartment. ohhhh cell phone i hate how much i love you. i also hung out with patricia on wednesday night catching up and

but the big/scary news of last week was my sister. as you know she lives in alabama - a state just hit very badly by tornadoes. the area where she lives dekalb county (which wasn't getting as much press as tuscaloosa) had the most deaths in alabama last week and we didn't hear from her for about 36 hours. so it was pretty scary for a little but, she is safe and her camp just had minor damage, but two F4 tornado each went about 15 miles from her and the pictures from that area are just devastating. she didn't have power or phones from wed evening to sunday afternoon, and we didn't hear from her until friday afternoon. she spent sunday helping in the clean up efforts in one of the towns. so glad she is safe.

and of course the royal wedding on friday. those on twitter saw all my tweets from friday morning. i was one of the crazies up at 5am watching it! i saw from when will and harry were arriving. and was just in giddy royal heaven all day. kate's dress omg gorgeous and just everything about it had me happy. i loved the hats! and my favorite part was when kate was walking down the aisle and harry leans into to will and says "wait until you see her" sigh, heart melts. also when will says to kate "you look beautiful". ohh royal wedding! i watched as much of it before i had to leave for work and missed the kiss, but don't worry we pretty much re-watched it at work a few times over.

and it was a fun weekend :) friday night i curled up and watched "love and other drugs" which i really enjoyed. saturday was fun because jeanne was in town, so her, kaity and i had a fun day in our nation's capital playing with the government and history! one of kaity's friends is a capital hill guide so she gave us a tour of the capital which was fun, and then we played around in the natural history and portrait gallery and had dinner and hung out back at kaity's place. and in super big fun news - jeanne asked me to be a bridesmaid! eeeeeeeee! so exciting :) amy, kaity and one of travis's sisters will also be bridesmaids, so lots of fun! and then when i got back home at like 10.30, i just got a text from annie telling me to come out to adams morgan as a bunch of people were out. so i decided why not and took the trek out there and seriously the metro gods were not in my favor. i had to wait 14 for the stupid orange and then 18 at my transfer to the red at metro center. so it took me forever to get out to admo. but it was fun when i finally got there! a bunch of conference people were out, so we had a great time dancing, laughing, catching up and just general fun. out until 3 and just a fun night.

sunday morning i had brunch with my glittle and a bunch of other people from college who i haven't seen in 4 years. she was in town because one of her best friends (and our sorority sister) was celebrating her birthday and an engagement in dc. so it was interesting, but funny to see a few sorority sisters and a bunch of the fraternity guys who were there. and then i just hung out with annie around her house. and so last night when i got home from annie's i was kinda tired and fell asleep watching a movie at 9.30, so guess who missed everything on osama bin laden... yup - this girl. saw it this morning when i woke up on twitter. but i'm not sure how i feel about it all. it is great we've killed the most wanted man in the world after 9.5 years and all the destruction, wars and terror he's been responsible for around the world, but celebrating his death... not so sure how i feel about that. plus, it isn't over, this war on terror will still continue.

anyway, a fun week lined up. one of my favorite author's jen lancaster will be in dc tuesday as her new book - "if you were here comes" out and so i'll be headed to the book reading for that! and just hanging out with friends after work on wednesday!
