all moved in!

driving the 10' moving truck!
so after being in charleston a month i was finally able to move in! i got a call on wednesday that my box had arrived in charleston (yay!) so saturday morning amy and i put on our moving pants and went to get my things! the forecast for the day was hot, humid and a 70% chance of rain so i was just hoping to get everything in the apartment before it rained - which was successful. we were well versed in the art of unpacking a u-box and moving it into a 10' moving truck and then moving it into our 2nd floor apartment as we did it when we moved in with amy's stuff. so we were ready for take two with my stuff. and ps we are amazing at it - we were joking around about hiring ourselves out for it. so after sweating off about 10 pounds - yay 90% humidity and upper 80s we had everything in the apartment. so i spent the afternoon organizing everything and setting up my bedroom and finding a home for everything. i need to make a target run for a few things and a few more picture frames so soon i'll do a new apartment post once everything is finished. sooooo happy to finally have my bed! it is soooo comfortable and i never want to get out of it.

my bed! yay!
my adventures in retail have begun. i had training last week 2 nights and then i also had my first shift on the floor on thursday where i did fitting rooms for 4 hours. it all seems common sense to me and i seemed to pick it up fast. so hopefully it continues to be this easy. and well it is also starting to get towards holiday shopping so we know that brings out the crazy. so i'm sure i'll have some crazy stories once i get working more. i am also quite pleased with the employee discout i get - which is one of the perks in working in retail and since it is a family of stores i get them in a few of my favorite places to shop. once i get a paycheck i'm going to get myself a new pair of jeans!

almost done!
and i had my first charleston zeta meeting! it was great to meet some new people but it really made me miss my nnj sisters - the alumnae chapters run quite differently and we did a lot more in nnj but i'm excited to get involved down here and hope it is as much fun. i also volunteered for the charleston historic preservation societies fall home & garden tours. it goes over the next month and i was in one of the most gorgeous gardens (i didn't have my phone so i couldn't but i'll have to get some next time i walk by) and spent the night telling people about the gardens and it was a lot of fun - despite getting wet as it rained off & on. so i'm doing a few more nights over the next month and i can't wait to use my vouchers to go on a few tours myself! as i LOVE gorgeous old houses!

and since my big excitement this weekend was moving i didn't really do much else but friday i drank wine and watched movies with pam and  saturday night amy and i went out. we wanted to have a fun night but well after a day of heavy lifting on saturday but we were kinda tired so we only did dinner. we laughed as we were walking back to the car at 10pm when we saw all of the cofc students just heading out in their party clothes and wondered when we got so old. but i did have sam's oktoberfest for the first time this year in a giant mug - kinda felt as if in munich with such a large mug! and now we're ending the weekend my watching movies and just relaxing before the week begins!

how was your weekend?

hey I moved this weekend too! :) The humidity was horrible, but the move went really smoothly! I may have to make a trip down to visit Charleston because it sounds like a pretty awesome city

We thought the same thing when we were out a few weekends ago--when did we get so old, and when did all of the girls' clothes get so teensy! I'm glad that you're getting settled in and really carving out your own niche here in Charleston :)
