busy busy busy

busy busy busy & kinda stressful week last week. from all the job interview stress, travel, working and just constantly being on the move. 

i was back in charleston for a few hours last week from monday afternoon to wednesday at 5am for my flight to philly. and i was able to see one of my new favorites at party in the park on tuesday. kip moore! he is a country artist and his song - something bout a truck - is super catchy and fun and his other stuff is great! i love - hey pretty girl-. so that was a fun little concert!

 and then wednesday was crazy. i flew to philly (via dulles) and then went to a training for work for a few hours and then rented a car and headed home for an interview but stopped in ambler to see amy & jeanne really quickly. had my interview thursday morning then drove back to philly to start work. and of course the drive took forever - uugh 3:15 min when it should take about 2:15. not fun! i was at upenn for a conference this weekend and it was nice to be able to be outside. walking around the campus and actually have stuff nearby. so it was a nice change of pace - plus working with hs students this week was fun. and it was a super small conference which was awesome. had a lot of fun with my friend jess exploring campus, staying up too late chatting and just having fun. plus some fun with the art & statues all over upenn's campus!

 then instead of flying back to charleston on sunday night i rented a car again to drive home. spent the night working on lesson plans and prepping and then after my interview on monday i had lunch with my momma & brother and then drove back to philly for my flight. so i spent a lot of time this weekend in a rental car and driving between my house & philly. and my flights were delayed on monday night so it took forever to get back to charleston.

beaaaacccch! super low tide.

so finally when i was in charleston it was sunny and warm! the 4 days i was home in june (yes i was only home for 4 days in june and some were partial) were not beach worthy. and all i wanted to do was go to the beach for a few hours. so i went to sullivan's island yesterday and spent about 6 hours there. just soaking up the sun and reading. being in my own little world. i was shocked how empty the beach was. i was all the way at the end and on the sandbar so maybe that explains it. i've shown pics of the sandbar before. so i usually go out onto the sandbar during low tide and i was there for super low tide. like there was another sandbar about 100 meters out. and there were no waves where i was. but as tide came in i kept moving my chair back. and well soon it was 7pm and i had my chair on the little patch of completely dry sand and was on a little sand island as the tide came up. and well it was a super high tide - and i had to wade through waist high water to get back. oops - it usually it about thigh high, but it was kinda funny. but here is a picture of my little sand island. it was nice and peaceful. and fun to see everyone & their dogs on the beach after 6.

 so now i'm off to new haven, ct for the weekend for work. flying though philly. seriously i've spent so much time in that airport! hope everyone has a happy 4th of july! it is my favorite holiday and i'm hoping i'll make it to some fireworks tonight!
