prague

hi from prague!

i've absolutely loved this city! the history and culture here in the czech republic is just so awesome! i'm kinda tired and don't feel like typing and i only have a few minutes before i have to leave to catch my train to budapest. so this will be prague in pictures!

national museum in wenceslas square

old town square with one of the many prague churches at night

astronomical clock in prague - this is super awesome and the detail is incredible! i also went up the tower for some gorgeous views of the city!

old town square as seen from the clock tower. pretty awesome!

at the top of the clock tower - you can see prague castle in the background

the ever famous charles bridge! sooooo incredible!
(and ps i should have a phd in taking photos of myself)

charles bridge tower

gates to prague castle - it is where the government since the the kngs of bohemia, holy roman empire, and presidents of czechoslovakia & czech republic have ruled. it is also the largest castle in the world.
and i want the guards hat.

st. vitus cathedral at prague castle - just incredible inside (and freezing!)

inside st. vitius cathedral - i took a ton of photos in here

prague train station

czech money - right now 5 kr = $1 so 100kr = $5

sedlec ostuary in kunta hora (about an hour outside prague) it may look normal on the outside...

but inside it decorated entirely of human bones. about 40,000 bodies worth of bones. found in graves from the 14-15th century when the plague and they were dug up and just piled. in the 1800s they decided to make use of the piles of bones. it was one of the most interesting places i've ever been.

there really are no words to describe it

the chandelier has bones from every bone in the body

st. barbara's church in kunta hora

lennon wall in prague. since 1988 it has continuously been painted and drawn on as a tribute to lennon.

i've had a great 2.5 days in prague. there is still so much here to see and do. i decided to go out to kunta hora instead of staying in prague, because it just seemed like a cool thing to do. i would have loved to spend more time in some of the churches in prague and in the jewish quarter, but that will just be another trip! i'm off to budapest for 2 days of fun there!

ps. you still have time to enter my guess how many photos erin will take in europe contest. you have until monday to guess! just leave a comment with a number and the winner will get some sort of european goodies!

just as i was looking at the picture of you with the charles bridge i found myself thinking "man, she is good at taking pictures of herself." you don't look sort of awkward with your arm in the picture or your shoulder in some strange position. :)

you can bring me european goodies anyway, even if i don't win the contest :)

(and that bone church is creepy)

miss you twin!

I absolutely LOVE reading about your adventures!!

That bone church is off the HOOK! I feel like I'd be really creeped out if I went in there. Did you KNOW it was made of bones before you went or did you just think it was a normal church??
