alligator search

so to celebrate my day off and amy being on fall break we headed to cypress gardens to go see an alligator and play in the swamp. we had a fun afternoon of walking around and taking a little boat out for a paddle after spending the morning cleaning. cypress gardens is about 20 miles north of charleston and is mostly cypress swamp with some hiking trails, gardens, some animals on display and you can take out a little boat.
gigantic alligator they have - i should have tried to give it scale. but seriously biggest alligator i've seen
cypress swamp - it might look familiar. go watch the notebook

taking a little paddle around the swamp

cute little bridge

absolutely loved this place

sadly no alligators when we were paddling around

amy and i at cypress gardens

so the only alligator we saw was the ones they have in captivity. though i will say one of them was HUGE. like i was super glad there was a fence there or i would have been a yummy dinner. and it was fun to paddle around and though i'm sad to not see a gator i'm kinda glad i didn't accidentally hit one with the paddle... i'm not sure what i would have done if we did...

after our adventure we went home to make dinner and then made a target run. i needed a few household things - we are so close to having everything. amy's parents are coming out this weekend and found a table for us at a garage sale! so that is the final thing we need to have everything! yay!
now we are on the search for cute fall decorations. any good suggestions?

tonight i forced amy to watch the notebook to giggle at all the charleston places or things as it was filmed here. so fun to pick all the spots! yay charleston!
