so yesterday was zta's founders day! we were started 113 years ago and i had a fabulous zeta filled day! it was the low country race for the cure and i was up early and spent the morning volunteering. i had a great time getting to know some of my fellow charleston zta sisters and more importantly volunteering for our philanthropy. zta sponsors the survivors tent at race for the cure across the country. we give each survivor their pink survivor shirt & hat plus the beads that represent each year they've beaten breast cancer as well as we do the in celebration & in memory of signs that runners wear. and yesterday i was reminded several times about our work when i had survivors come up to me and thank me for my sorority's work with susan g. komen and what we've done to help raise awareness and research around the country. zta has partnered with the nfl & yoplait as well and i'm amazed at what some of the college chapters do as well. and especially since yesterday was also a celebration of 113 years it made race for the cure even more special. and after to celebrate founders day after the race a group of us went out to brunch so it was great to chat more and get to know these ladies more because i really miss my nnj ladies.

and if i thought my life was crazy last monday i should have waited for this week to be over before i said that. today marks 13 days of work in a row. i ended up getting subbing jobs on wednesday and friday plus getting extra hours at retail both tuesday & thursday. so i worked at least 7-4 monday - friday last week. but i desperately need some time off so i didn't even look for a subbing job for monday so i'm able to enjoy this gorgeous fall weather (ok who am i kidding it is almost 80, it doesn't feel like fall). and amy also has the day off for fall break so we haven't figured out what we're doing yet, but it will be something fun!

but today after work, where i seriously spent 2.5 hours dressing mannequins seriously so much more complicated than you think and a total pita to dress. especially because you layer like crazy and have to search around the section for the clothes the book says and then fight with it to get clothes on. and i was dressing 4 kids & 4 toddlers. i don't think i could dress an adult, they would beat me. anyway, amy and i went to sullivan's island for a walk on the beach. which was much needed. sullivan's island has some of the coolest tide pools i've ever seen. seriously the difference from high to low tide must be at least 100 yards and the tide pools get to be a few feet deep. i was just shocked, we were there at low tide, i can't imagine it at high tide. and we found all sorts of fun sea creatures!

| you can kinda see where the waves are. and we are at the edge of the tidal pool |

I've never thought about it before, but yeah, now that you mention it, dressing mannequins DOES seem like it would be a pain!
