so i'm back in charleston! woooo!

bye nj!
i was in new jersey since november 18th with all my knee fun and it feels amazing to be back in charleston! it doesn't help that is has been in the 80s and sunny while nj is in the 50s. so wednesday afternoon i drove to dc and saw the lovely patricia and then thursday drove the 9 hours from dc to charleston. and man that drive is so annoying. 3 hours in va, 3 hours in nc and about 2 down 95 and then the last 45 minutes on 26 to charleston. but it was an uneventful drive and i did enjoy seeing the temperature on my car keep rising the further south i went!

sangria & flowers
but the roomie surprised me with flowers and some homemade sangria upon my arrival! so we spent the evening chatting and drinking the sangria with other friends and just laughing. and i enjoy eating the fruit out of my sangria with a fork!

friday i spent the day cleaning and organizing my room and apartment and just relaxing and then friday afternoon we headed to folly for a bit for the beach and dinner. both pam & julia had friends in town because it was bridge run weekend and everyone was running it. so we had a fun time at dinner and enjoying the beach - though it was pretty chilly so we didn't spend much time. but we had an early evening as everyone running was meeting up at 4:30 to get bussed over to the start of the bridge run.

evening at folly beach
i didn't need to be up quite as early since i was just heading downtown to cheer on everyone running. and since i knew downtown would be a hotttttt mess - the bridge run is huge! over 43,000 people registered - i decided to use the bus system for the first time. and then i walked up to the end of the bridge to meet up with two of amy's classmates who were cheering. it was fun to cheer along everyone running and as the crowds started coming across the bridge! it was just a wall of people.

after the race we hung out downtown for a bit and then amy and i were lazy around the apartment, ran a few errands and went grocery shopping and made dinner and well we were both kinda tired. so i watched some of the final 4 basketball and fell asleep early like old ladies. oh well! and then today i headed to the beach for the afternoon - went to sullivan's this time and had a relaxing afternoon reading. which i loooooooove that i can spend the afternoon on the beach on april 1st - it was only about 80 and a bit windy - so i was chilly and had on a long sleeved shirt. i don't know how the girls next to me were in bikinis! but it was glorious. i love living 20 minutes from the beach so i can go whenever! amy and i made dinner and tonight i've just been catching up online and watching the acm's - all my favorite country artists have performed! wooo! and i'm subbing tomorrow and tuesday at least - i'm hoping for all 5 days this week.
hope you have a good week! how was your weekend?

i know you've wanted to be back in charleston, but now you're far from me! i would love to be enjoying the warm temps and the beach. i'm so ready for summer! :)
So glad you are enjoying your Charleston homecoming. I really wanted to run the race this year, but after hearing about the nightmare of the hour delay and taking forever to get all the waves moving, I think I'm glad I just did it last year when it went smoothly ;)
Happy to hear your back!! A little jealous of all your warm weather!! It was freezing in NJ this weekend!
