Where does time go? Is it me or as I've gotten older it seems as time just flies by, honestly it is the end of April and I keep meaning to update but it just hasn't been happening.

So last weekend I went home to New Jersey to say goodbye and pack up the last of my things at my parent's house. My dad retired April 1st and our house was part of his job, so after almost 21 years we have to say goodbye. I moved there when I was 7 and in second grade, my parents aren't moving for a few more weeks and some things are still up in the air, but I have a crazy schedule and if I didn't go home last weekend my next totally free one is June 8/9th, and my parents hope to be out by then (they have until July 1st) so I went home. It was a tough weekend for me, because this was my home. I loved living there in my basement lair and just going through all the memories. My room hasn't been my room since I moved to Charleston, and anything I had left at home I had in boxes and my room was pretty much storage. But I did get through everything and filled up Colby with stuff to take to VA and I left 6 boxes at my parents, but I was pretty happy with that! It just means I had to get creative with things in Virginia! It was a good weekend home despite going home to say goodbye. I was a wreck Sunday morning though when I left and said goodbye. I guess this really means I'm an adult as I no longer have the house I grew up in. The hardest part is knowing that in a few months the house is going to get vandalized like the other abandoned houses up the road, we are 95% sure the state isn't putting anyone else in the house, so to me that is the hardest part knowing that people are going to ruin my house.

| Nats game! |
So last week I was pretty busy. The boy came over Sunday night as I hadn't seen him in almost 2 weeks with me being in South Carolina and he was away for a memorial service for a friend. Tuesday night I went to my first Nats game of the season and had a great time with some baseball and friends, too bad the Nats lost. I'm looking forward to going to more games this summer!

Wednesday night I headed to my favorite local National Park site - Great Falls (which is part of the GW Parkway) to relax a little bit after work. It was National Park week and I needed to get to one of them sometime during the week or I'd be sad with my National Parks love. So I took my first post-work trip there of the season to read and just relax overlooking the falls at my favorite spot. It ia one of my favorite ways to relax. Thursday night I went out with the boy and met some of his coworkers so that was a lot of fun, getting to meet them. And then Friday was here! It was my first week since early February were I worked a Monday-Friday at the office. Which is kinda crazy! But it was a good week at work. But I was super excited for the weekend because I went camping with the boy! Friday night we just hung out and cooked dinner and Saturday morning met up with his friends and went out to George Washington National Forrest and hiked Sugar Knob. It was a gorgeous day and perfect weather to go hiking! It was SO nice to get out and backpack - I finally got to use the pack I bought when I went to Europe and it was the best! So much smaller than my other one and perfect for a few days hiking. So next time we go camping I'm totally going to try the hammock. A few of his friends are into sleeping in hammocks instead of a tent and I can't wait to try it! It was a great night relaxing after we made camp and just chatting - it was fun to get to know a few of his friends more, I'm really getting to know them too. I was just happy to be outside and around a campfire. Sunday morning we were up early and hiked back to the car and headed back home. The rest of Sunday was lazy as it was gross and dreary and started to rain just as we got back.

Camping was just what I needed and it was such a fun weekend. I can't wait to go again, I've really missed being outside. This week is busy and I'm off to Cali on Thursday for Mary Jo's wedding!
Do you like camping?

This year is going by way too fast. I hate it haha. I don't even know where the time is going. I love baseball games and I really hope to go to a Mets game this year. I just got back from being away and now I'm back to the harsh reality. lol
