money money money

so reading everyone's 20sb posts about money for this month's blog carnival made me stop and think about my financial situation. and while some months i could be doing less spending according to the schwab financial fitness quiz and my credit report i'm actually doing really well. i got an 89 on the financial fitness quiz which surprised me but i have always been pretty careful with my money and i was also curious about my credit score, i checked it on freecreditreport.com and everything looked great but was also curious of my credit score... so i took the plunge and paid $8 to one of the companies to see my number and i was again pleasantly surprised how high it was, especially with all my student loans. i have tried to be good and save money this year and i made it one of my goals this year to save $20,000 in 2010. and i'm really close to that right now. i figured out the other day that i saved almost half of what i made (after taxes) teaching this year, and i was really proud of myself for that. and especially right now having no idea what i'll be doing after mid august knowing that i have money saved up so i can still pay my bills. especially when my student loans each month are about $550

i feel really lucky that i have managed my money so well and after looking more at some of the advice that i got on the financial fitness quiz i want to do more with investments, but i need to figure out how... i know having my money in a savings account is doing me nothing. i am lucky that i don't have any credit card debt like so many people i know and that i'm not living paycheck to paycheck. last spring when i moved back to the states i was living like that and i wasn't making enough to cover my student loans/rent/car payment and having to take money out of my non-existant savings was hard, especially because i tried to save money when i was living in ireland so i could have savings for when i moved back to the state.

and one thing that has enabled me to do so much saving, though it is slowly killing my soul has been living at home since september. where i live rent isn't cheap, for a 1 bedroom apartment i'm looking at $800 a month plus utilities, so everything i've been able to save will one day be going to the housing fund, so i will have to be better with my money. because i've splurged this year - i bought a new macbook pro, a nice mountain bike, went to (and bought tickets as gifts) to a few concerts, did a lot of shopping (thought almost everything i buy has to be on sale). i also love the meeting up with friends for dinner and drinks, i love traveling on the weekends to see friends and it all adds up. i also splurge every three weeks to get my mani/pedi. but i try to be good and stick to my budget. i also just found this awesome website - www.mint.com where you can track all your spending and it connects to your bank accounts/credit cards/loans and lets you know where your money is going. i have a feeling it is going to be my new favorite website for financial related things.

so how do your feel about your financial situation?

ahhhhh!

umm, so last week quickly went out of control. like from 15-60 in about 12 hours. i just had SO MUCH stuff to do! and like no time.

wednesday was a snow day. we got like 4 inches of super wet heavy snow, and up by school they got about 7 inches. and then it rained and made life gross. it was nice, though i hate using a snow day up in december. i slept, which was glorious. and then graded 40 world war II propaganda projects which took forever! and then thursday was test day, so i now had 100 tests to grade on world war II and antebellum america. and thursday i also ran practice, and i made my skiers do our crazy ab workout from college, haha! and then i went to the christmas concert at school. and i also had to make sure i had sub plans in order. i swear that is just as much work! because on friday i was going on the model congress field trip. so i was just like sjfsgkkdgkdkfdkfd.... and then i went to connecticut for the weekend to see the fabulous roomie and other mystic friends.

and i just finished grading the last few tests because progress reports are due tuesday morning at 9am. so tomorrow i need to go in slightly early and enter the grades, i just finished grading. and when my one class was like are we getting tests back and i said, no i didn't get to finish yours - i responded with sorry i had a life this weekend. i don't sit around all weekend grading tests, i like the weekends just as much as you guys do. they laughed. and i am so glad this is the last full week before christmas. i am soooo looking forward to 10 days off. and maybe i'll get some stuff ready in advance, so the next chapters will be easier? and with midterms and everything. ahhhh, so much going on. but i love it.

so i've been neglecting the best of 09. so here is the last week! how did that happen? eeek!

December 8 Moment of peace. An hour or a day or a week of solitude. What was the quality of your breath? The state of your mind? How did you get there?

moment of peace? all the long car drives i've made this year. i do a lot of thinking in the car alone, while rocking out to my favorite music and just wondering. or popping into my favorite coffee shop in cork - tribes on rainy sundays with a great book to just sit and relax for a few hours.

December 9 Challenge. Something that really made you grow this year. That made you go to your edge and then some. What made it the best challenge of the year for you?

best challenge is a tie between moving back to the states and my first few months teaching. both have been extremely rewarding and oh so challenging. but i love it. i'm so happy i'm back in the classroom and that moving back to the us has been as amazing as it has. honestly 2009 has just been incredible.

December 10 Album of the year. What's rocking your world?

ummmm, i think you know this. but taylor's fearless. i know it came out in november 2008, but it has honestly been my soundtrack this year.

thought for one in 2009 i'm quite fond of the glee soundtrack (yes, i went there)

December 11 The best place. A coffee shop? A pub? A retreat center? A cubicle? A nook?

ummm, best place... i can't choose. there are too many places i've loved. from ireland to my travels around europe to connecticut, dc, philly, maryland, new jersey....

December 12 New food. You're now in love with Lebanese food and you didn't even know what it was in January of this year.

red wine. wasn't a big red wine fan until the roomie and i went to spain in january. now it is almost all i drink! especially spanish red wine. now i want a glass.

December 13 What's the best change you made to the place you live?

ummmm, i lived in 4 different places this year.

cork, ireland - mystic, ct - westpark hotel - new jersey

December 14 Rush. When did you get your best rush of the year?

best rush. getting the phone call 4 hours after my interview offering me the teaching job. i was completely shocked and couldn't believe that i was going to be teaching this fall! it was so surreal!

how is everyone's week? i can't believe christmas is so close! my students remind me everyday! and i'm excited for this weekend and seeing my love in philly! yay :)

night :)

where in the world.... london

It's Wednesday and that means it's time the lovely Jess over at Classy in Philadelphia's , Where In The World Wednesday!

If you participate, please take the button the fabulous Feris made to use in your post!

The idea of WITWW is to post a picture of you in someplace in the world...it doesn't have to be somewhere foreign or tropical. Just a picture of you somewhere that you consider traveling.

and this week is LONDON.... specifically my favorite phone booth in london. i chose this because a year ago my parents hopped the pond to come see my graduate with my MA in history and we went to london and then all over ireland.

with my mom last december
when my parents were in europe
for my MA graduation

best of 09: conference

continuing on with the best of 09 challenge

December 6 - Workshop or Conference. Was there a conference or workshop you attended that was especially beneficial? Where was it? What did you learn?

ummmm, even though i was working at this conference and not a participant i'd have to go with what i did in dc this summer. working with over 300 amazing high school students from around the US and then around the world was an AMAZING experience. i learned so much from them, but it gave me the experience to teach high schoolers in a fun way and to let my slightly crazy self come out and be completely passionate about history and the government. i gained a lot from this experience when i did the program in high school and even more as a facilitator getting to provide this experience for high schoolers.also my co-workers were pretty awesome.

my global kids in the united nations debating world peace
national kids at my favorite tj in dc

annnnnnnnd i just bought tickets to see riverdance in nyc in march! a little happy st. patrick's day and a celebration of irish love, plus march is when i moved back to the states, so just something to remind me of my favorite place. also it is the farewell tour, they've been around since 1995, and it will be cool to see them in radio city for the last time, since it was their first show in the US. so yay for that :) and though michael flatley won't be performing it makes me laugh because i met him in 2005 in cork, and then last year we were on the same flight once from cork to london.

how was everyone's weekend? any good plans this week?

best of 09: night out

December 5. Night out. Did you have a night out with friends or a loved one that rocked your world. Who was there? What was the highlight of the night?

I had a bunch of great nights in 2009. But my favorite would probably be clubs and socs 2009. it was pretty much my unofficial going away party in ireland. it was my last week in ireland and all of my coworkers and mountaineering friends were going, along with brenda and other people i knew so it was a great night of dressing up, lots of free alcohol, a great theme, dancing and laughing. it was my unofficial going away party because all my coworkers were there and i kinda planned when i was going home by this night, because they are always sooo much fun! i was also called up and thanked for my work the last 2 years by the societies which was a huge surprise and was given the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers!

with brenda, one of my good friends

little bit of fun with the coworkers

runners up:

last night with my dc coworkers

amy's birthday

uuuuuughhhhhh. it is snowing, like we have about 2 inches right now. grrrrrr. i've had enough of winter. it can go away now. went christmas shopping with my mom, and pretty much picked out most of my presents. haha. i picked out a new strand of pearls and then gap was having MAJOR sales. all tops and sweaters were buy one get one free.... which is dangerous. so i ended up with 3 sweaters, 2 tops and 3 skirts. so that was fun :) i wanted to show pictures, but gap.com doesn't have a lot of the items, weird.

watching the florida-alabama game and grading. i wanted to get started on christmas cards, but didn't get to target. if you want a christmas card send me an email with your address :)

best of 09: song...

December 3 Song. What's song that that blew you away? That you shared with all your friends. That reminds you of the year 2009?

umm ok, so i changed the prompt... it was article of the year, but i can't think of an article i read off the top of my head, i don't have anything in particular bookmarked, so i'm doing song.

And I'm narrowing it down to two songs. both i feel i'e been listening to most of the year and both i can think of a handful of memories that make me laugh.

just dance - lady gaga
from first hearing it on the radio at work in ireland last january and then it was the unofficial theme song for amy's trip to ireland when i was car dancing, windows rolled down every time it came on when i'm driving for the first time on the other side of the road, to it being my 5 minute warning this summer at the conferences and a big pump up song on the way to work in the morning. plus... just dance, good idea :)

love story - taylor swift
ok while i may have first heard this song when her cd came out in november 2008 buuuut it reminds me of 2009 more. from playing it on repeat all the time in ireland and getting my co-workers and irish friends to like her. the week before i left ireland hearing it on irish radio! and then it was the theme song i feel to my spring in connecticut. i can't tell you how many times we sung it at the top of our lungs while drinking margaritas... or just drinking in general. also it was one of my songs i was always dancing and singing to this summer at the conferences.. and i wrote a blog post about it last january and i've also created a t.swift blog label...

so i feel like while there have been a lot of great songs this year those two just stick out in my mind as songs that remind me of this year :)

what would your "song" of 2009 be?

blog challenge: best of 2009

so something on the 20sb blog caught my eye and we're going to see if i can do this.

it is the best of 2009 blog challenge. 31 days, 31 posts to look back on 2009 and reflect.

and as you might have guessed, 2009 was pretty awesome. like i still keep expecting to wake up and the last year has been an extremely long dream.

so december 1st is about a trip. your favorite trip in 2009.

favorite trip... where do i begin? i had some pretty awesome travels in 2009, but hands down my favorite was my college roomie coming to visit me in ireland and our trip to spain in january.

it was an amazing 10 days. showing my best friend the country i fell in love with and all over my home in cork. driving in ireland in peat the best rental car ever! and after a few hilarious adventures in eire we took a holiday in spain. i loved spain. from my interesting attempts to speak spanish, where i seemed to speak lolcat spanish, getting to see picasso's guernica, hilarious nights drinking red wine and tapas, playing in the mediterranean sea and drinking sherry... it was a trip i'll never forget and something that roomie and i'll be able to look back on and laugh :)

and for a bit of the amazing photography :)

amy and i at blarney castle
petting the fishies at the alhambra
gorgeous scenery in galway.... where i coined the term scenerygasim
amy and i at the med sea... loooved malaga

blog swap

so i have some major apologies for emily we were paired together for 20sb's blog swap and she posted my post last week about wanting to live in two places and somehow i never received the email with her post. so here it is :)

When I read the name of Erin’s blog, I must admit my heart did a little leap. “And her heart, it is in Ireland”, it said. Mine TOO! I thought, and immediately started reminiscing about my brief little 24 hour stint to Dublin, two years ago.

I’ve only ever been to Ireland the once. Which is funny, because it’s about 45 minutes away from England, where I spent the first fifteen years of my life, during which I didn’t visit at all. I knew my great grandparents were from Cork, and I’d always been fascinated with everything Irish. What wonderful music they have! What wonderful landscapes! What wonderful beer! I used to daydream about what it must be like to live in a country so rich with culture, so musical and lively, so full of folklore and history. To be able to take walks along the coast, or through a little village still paved with cobblestones and catch up with your mates at the local pub at the end of the work week, or go jumping around, dancing to traditional Celtic music, having the time of your life.

Why is it that grass always seems so much greener on the other side? When I first moved to Canada, I was in love with it here. Everything was so vast, so open, so clean. Houses were so huge, and cheap, and weren’t attached at the seams to your neighbour’s living room! People were so welcoming, and so interested in hearing about a life and a country so very different from their own. I had the chance of a new life unlike anything I’d ever known, and the world seemed incredible this side of the pond. Who’d ever want to live in England, my mother told me. It’s expensive, dirty and crowded, and people are “common as muck”. I found it easy to fall in love with a new country when that was the only thing I heard for two years before we actually got here. Added on to the fact that in British schools, you’re either popular and a bully or unpopular and bullied, and with my short boy-hair and braces, it’s pretty safe to say I wasn’t the former. What a wonderful country Canada was going to be.

And for the first few years, it was. Then came the trials of every child turning into an adult. Boys! Horrible, nasty boys who’d take you for everything you had! Moving out! Rent, bills, and being thrown out once things with said boys turned sour. I went through several very ugly years of relationships (or “relationsh!t”, if you will), and the more I stayed here the more I decided I wanted to go back. I convinced myself I was missing out on everything I grew up on; amazing music, great TV, awesome food you just can’t get in North America… and all my friends I’d grown up with. I came very close to moving back. And then I met Mr. Right.

He’d entered my life right at the beginning of my downward spiral, and we’d dated briefly in first year university before our paths diverged and we didn’t speak for years, only to resurface again a couple of years ago, when we decided to give it another shot. A ring on my finger and several intense conversations later, you could say the issue of where in this world to live has come up several times. I think for me, honestly, England will always be home. For him, Canada is where his heart is. A large family with a rich French culture – going to the UK would be the polar opposite of anything he’s ever known. Often, in Winnipeg, I find myself longing to be elsewhere. Especially at this time of year, when the leaves have all fallen, the temperature’s slowly getting more bitter, and you know that for the next six months you’re not going to be able to expose any skin without risk of it freezing and falling off. It’s hard to be positive a place you can only really be happy outside for three months a year.

But for various reasons, here seems to be where I’m staying. I’ve had numerous conversations with a very good friend of mine whenever I feel low about Winnipeg, whether it’s at the beginning of winter, or when I’ve just returned from a trip back home, and she’s always reminded me of why I’m staying here. It’s not just because my parents brought me ten years ago. I could move back if I really wanted to. The truth of it all is that this city has brought me the most wonderful things I’ve ever known. A friend for life who’s scooped me from the bottom of the well when things were bad and brought me back to life. A love that returned against all odds only to prove the most incredible thing in my world. A beautiful home – I wouldn’t be able to afford one a third of this size back in England. Incredible personal growth opportunities, and a really great job. These are things that have shaped me for the future, and truly, I’d probably never be at the place I am today if I’d stayed in England. Plus when you only see somewhere you love, whether it’s England, Ireland, or wherever, once in a blue moon – you have so much more appreciation for it. When I visit, I cram in everything I can – as I said before, in fifteen years of living there, I never took advantage of everything it had to offer. So I’m okay with staying here. As long as I can continue to visit the places my heart loves every once in a while, there’s some pretty darn good reasons to stay here.

Even if there is six months of Arctic temperatures – that’s all the more time to spend with these wonderful people; evenings of hot chocolate and ice skating, enjoying all the crazy things winter actually does have to offer, and to dream – to dream of the next time I’ll see those wonderful places again.

philly love

yesterday was the 20sb blog swap and i was paired up with the lovely emily so go check out my post on making the best out of life and not worrying about greener grass :)

so this weekend was amazing. i drove down to philly in the yucky rain friday evening and it was mostly dark. there are 2 things i don't like to drive in the dark and the rain. but i rocked out to taylor and she made it all better. it is a easy drive down to jeanne's she lives outside the city near media. so we spent the evening catching up on our lives and teaching/school psychologisting and everything while enjoying some wine. also laughing at travis, who kept falling asleep on the couch! jeanne's boyfriend is kinda an extension of our group, the 4 of us would always go visit him in college. we then watched two episodes of greek, as i was behind. so that was great because it was jeanne who got me into it :)

saturday we were up early and into philly along kelly drive for the head of the schuylkill. enjoyed looking at boathouse row :) and then walked along until we found the team's trailers and boats. saw a few girls on the team who we knew, it is crazy the only people we know on the team are now seniors! eeeeek! made me feel old. saw ashleigh and jumped on her and we sounded like we hadn't seen each other in 2.5 year (oh wait i haven't seen her since may 20,2007) so it was AMAZING to see her. even if we didn't get to talk too much since she had her boys to coach. saw our coaches and they gave us big hugs.. met the new men's coach who i apparently emailed back in 2005 about the chestertown tea party when i was doing a paper on did it really happen. (i just went and found the email! haha!) and also coxed two boats off the trailer for the novice teams. and the weather... well it could have been better, but it could have been much worse! it was low 60s and of and on rain. but it was nice to be at a race and just to cheer and have fun! and after work travis joined us, and we watched a lot of the races from the strawberry mansion bridge, which was a cool viewpoint. it would be even better for 2k races! and then at the end of the day it started to pour! we were there from 9.30 to 4.30 and soaked! so we went back to their apartment with the plans to change and then go out in philly, but on the way home we decided to just stay in media... and after a few minutes at home and it raining even more, we ordered in, drank more wine and we were falling asleep at 10pm! so much for my crazy night in philly, but it was still so much fun!

sunday we walked around media and then i hit the road, so i could go meet a zeta sister to talk about advising a college chapter and then get home to do some work! so it was fun and i can't wait to see her more often. we are about 2 hours away from each other, so we want to make plans to meet halfway for dinner more often. and then i'm super psyched for this weekend in connecticut! YAYYAYAY!

so i've decided i really like philly. i had never been until this summer and the more i go the more i love it. i still need to do most of the touristy things - i've only seen the liberty bell. so yay for new adventures and hopefully getting to explore a fun new city which really isn't too far away!

how was everyone's weekend?

looking up the schuylkill towards the start
boats racing down the course
jeanne, ash and i
john kelly.. one of the best rowers ever... kelly drive is named after him
we hid out under the bridge for a while and watched races!

looking back: the day before i left

“This post is a part of 20SB’s Looking Back Blog Carnival, and Ben & Jerry’s is awarding free ice cream to lucky bloggers and readers!”
So 20sb is back with the blog carnival! yay! i've missed doing these. and i love this topic, a post from your first two months blogging.
i went with the entry from the day before i left to move to ireland, so it is from september 8th, and the second post from this blog.

TOMORROW - 8 September 2007

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! i leave tomorrow!!!!

so i am almost done packing, i need to make my bags lighter, so i need to go through it all again. but the coolest thing happened when i was packing. i bought a ring in kinsale, one of my first weekends in ireland and i wore it all semester and i lost it right at the end of my semester and i was really upset. so i brought out the bag i used for my laptop when i was in ireland and packing some stuff in it for my carry-on when i found my ring! i was sooo excited!

its just starting to hit me that i'll be in ireland soon, i'll be going to tesco, the english market, walking down patrick's street, going to the pubs, walking around campus, seeing signs in irish.

i have been waiting for this day since december 20th, 2005 when i left cork and now its finally here.
and i'm not going for a visit, i'm going back to live again.

i think i need to pinch myself to make sure this is real.
seriously.

my flight leaves sunday night at 7.25 and monday morning at 6.55 i should be in shannon and in cork around lunch time!

YAY!

blog swap

So today is a special day! It is the 20 something blogger's 4th blog swap. So I am swapping blogs with the amazing Maxie over at i hate so much, so my post is there and here is hers. So enjoy her post and check out her blog, because it is pretty awesome!

Hey y'all! Since today is the 4th blog swap I felt the need to live up to my blog name. I'm Maxie and I write at i hate so much. The truth is I pretend like I hate many more things than I actually do, but I've got a rep to protect so don't tell anyone, 'kay? So today I'm brining a ball of hate. Here's my beef.

A few months ago I heard about this awesome site: FML

It had me CRACKING UP. They range from embarrassing to disgusting to horrible. All of my favorite things.

Here are a couple of my faves:

Today, brand new cocktail dress: $300. Matching peep toe heels: $100. Getting my hair done at the salon: $80. Treating myself to a mani/pedi: $50. When finally meeting the guy I have been chatting online with for 2 months, I find out hes my cousin: priceless. FML

It's even better because I'm from WV. It's all relative here-- hey yo! Here's another:

Today, I was going through my old MSN conversations. I then realized that when I first got MSN, I didn't know that messages you sent after people went offline would be delivered to them when they signed in. I used to type 'I love you' to my crush after every time he went offline. FML

Hilarious, right? I'm still laughing even though I've read things a thousand times! And another:

Today, I woke up a little after seven. I felt sick to my stomach because last night was my bachelor party and I drank more than I ever have before. I checked my phone, and I had received 42 missed calls. It was seven o'clock pm. Today was my wedding day. FML

Hmmm. Really? You just slept through your wedding and you have time to get on the internet to email FML. Sounds a little fishy to me.

Then THIS happened:

Today, I took my pet boa constrictor to the vet because it was eating funny and acting weird. He used to sleep on my bed curled up, but recently he started lying straight, right next to me. The vet said that he was measuring how long I was to see if he'd be able to swallow me. FML

Y'all may not be familiar with this story, but my readers sure as hell are. Months and months ago my dear buddyBen left a very similar comment on my blog, except he claimed to know the person who almost got consumed by their snake personally. I took him at his word and told MY WHOLE FAMILY. They told all of their co-workers. Snake story EXPLOSION!

Guess what. It's an urban myth. If the people at FML can't even catch THAT, how many of their almost normal stories do you think are fake? FY, FML. You're dead to me.

p.s. You'll never be dead to me even if your stories are all lies. They're too funny for me to quit cold turkey.

the one where it was sooo worth it...

So over on 20sb this month's blog carnival is about first kisses. So here is my rambly post all about my first kiss...

So while most people had their first 'boyfriend' in middle school or high school, I was one of those girls who kept waiting hoping that the next guy I like would like me back. That maybe I would have a date on a Friday night to the movies, that maybe I would get asked to the prom... But nope, my first kiss never happened in middle or high school. It wasn't like I was a freak or anything, I did have dates to both my junior and senior prom - I asked both of the guys I went with and they each happened to be my co-captain of the ski team that year. So when I went off to college I was hoping my luck would be different.

I went to a small college where EVERYONE knows everyone. You end up hooking up with the same group of guys, your friends have also hooked up with them and things get messy. It is just a part of life.

My freshman year of college, I had an amazing group of friends. We all lived on the same hall in our dorm, there was a group of about 10 of us from our hall of 18 who always hung out. So we had a lot of great weekends, going to our friend's dorm where we had the strongest cocktails known to man, or our favorite fraternity house. So when in the middle of September of our freshman year Hurricane Floyd was striking the East Coast, our college was closed for a few days, while some friends went home. Most of us decided to stay (we all lived too far to go home) so with the college mostly shut down, what else is a group of college students going to do but party?

(A lot of these details are from my original online journal - I've been blogging since 2001)
So Wednesday night we went over to our friends for some cocktails and celebrated the hurricane and Caps (He was a big Washington Capitals fan, I can't call him the nickname he was later given) was there. Now we had met a few parties prior and at the night before - martini night to kick off the hurricane weekend, we started talking. So Wednesday night there was a bunch of us there and after a few of my friends went off, Caps and I (along with 2 other friends) went off for them. And on the little adventure we started holding hands and since we couldn't find the ones who had wondered off, we ended up back at the dorm watching movies, now midway through roomie got a phone call - from a guy we nicknamed Booty Call Chris (hahaha! remember him) so Caps and I were alone, we were cuddling on my bed and talking. And pretty soon after roomie left, Caps leans in an all of a sudden our lips were touching (inside I was like FINALLY!!!) and then his tongue was in my mouth and after a second of panic (hello, I'm 18, a freshman in college, never been kissed and was all like ajdkjdjfgdj what am I supposeed to be doing, am I doing this right, I must be awful) but I just relaxed and it turned out into a nice LONG makeout session. So it was getting late and so we kissed goodbye, and I immediately called my best friend, even though it was 2am. Hello! first kiss! Sp I enjoyed it, and it was a nice sense of relief, that I had finally done it. Not gonna lie, I love making out. I see nothing wrong with it, and it can be a lot of fun, and a confidence booster....

So it was a memorable experience, with the hilariousness of that weekend. We ended up partying Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, and the makeout sessions continued with Caps. The rest of that story with him is quite funny. So after not hearing from him for another month and a half after Hurricane weekend, we talked all the time the month leading up to winter break and during break, to find that the first weekend back he makes out with one of my BEST friends. Slight fight amongst her and I until we realize he isn't worth it. So the drama kinda ends there with Caps, but I still saw him all the time freshman year, because I ended up dating one of his good friends... And then junior year when I studied abroad, his girlfriend (started dating sophomore year) was also in Cork with me, her and I became good friends... And I'm happy to say that him and his girlfriend recently became engaged.

Somehow most of my guy experiences have a funny story or a crazy ending, they just can't be normal.. yea we dated, broke up, don't really talk or made out once and that was the end..
But it makes me laugh, and while we kinda joke about how I was 18 when I was first kissed, I just laugh, because at least it was memorable and there was a funny story involved. And it wasn't an awkward 12 year old boy not sure what he was doing...

oh yea, the title is in reference to the title of the post on my old journal... haha!
