big tree

it was a pretty quiet weekend for me but with some chilly weather so i was content to stay inside with the windows open and snuggle with some books. but i have a busy week (for me right now) so i'm looking forward to all the things i have to do!

so i mentioned last week i had submitted all my paperwork to substitute teach and i dropped off my final piece of paper on thursday afternoon and they were just waiting for the background check to go through so i figured i won't be in the system until monday. friday morning a little after 9 i was reading on the couch when i got a call asking me to sub. so i rushed and was out the door in 15 minutes and ended up subbing for a 9th grad science class. so that was great to get called so soon, but with the almost 30 degree temperature change from thursday to friday. it was 90 on thursday and friday morning it was in the low 60s and all the fall allergies i was miserable. one of my contacts was waging warfare against my eye and i had to make the decision to leave it in and be in pain or take it out and give myself a migrane from not seeing properly. i went with the migrane option - so it wasn't a great day. and i did have an extra contact but i knew it wouldn't be any better with a new one. so friday night i decided not to meet amy and others out downtown for a few drinks and watched my favorite "when sally met harry" when i saw it was on tv.

saturday morning i was supposed to row but once we got there it was a bit too windy so we didn't go out. but in the afternoon amy and i went on a little adventure to angel oak in james island. it is a giant live oak that is according to legend 1500 years old but really about 400-500. it is one of the biggest trees i've ever seen. so it was a fun little adventure.

saturday night we just chilled and watched movies after running some errands. and then sunday i went on a second date with the guy i went out with last week but it only confirmed my thoughts from the first date but i'm enjoying getting out there and meeting new people.

i also subbed yesterday and it reminds me how much i absolutely hate subbing. but it is something and it just makes me miss having my own class. and then i watched the new episodes of himym & two broke girls. himym was ok, but the twist was at the end. which i'm trying to figure out how that plays into everything but i still love the show. and it was the premiere of two broke girls and i really enjoyed it. it was funny and i'm looking forward to the next few episodes of the show. and tonight is my first day of retail, wooo!

and last week the new lady a cd - own the night - came out and i absolutely love it. it is quite different from their first two cd's and i think it is more singer/songwriterish and just absolutely amazing vocals. i've pretty much been listening to it non-stop since i got it on tuesday. and it was great because they did a acoustic concert last week that they webcasted and just listening to their new & old stuff acoustic is amazing. i love the song "own the night" and "friday night" is super catchy and "when you were mine". pretty much i love the whole album. i totally recommend listening to it.
