i've been in nova (northern virginia) since friday now and it has been so much fun and slightly crazy! friday i had an ok drive down, after i was stuck in some major traffic right by home, and it took me and hour and a half to get to princeton, when it should only take 45. but the rest of the drive was great and i hit little traffic. i found that my xm radio gets BBC1, so i enjoyed listening to that along with some rocking out to taylor swift!
saturday started training, and the rest of the staff is awesome. we've had a super busy last few days, but it has been fun. i am really excited for what i am doing! i am working at a leadership/government program for high school students. it is super hands on, we are in dc a lot during the day and i'm just really excited for it. training has reminded me soooo much about my edblock classes (student teaching), and we are doing academies on wednesday. and they also love notecards. my first group arrives on saturday, and i can't wait. training is over on wedneday, i'm home thursday for my little brother's 8th grade graduation, and back to nova on friday. so a lot of driving in the next few days.
so today after work was fun! the hotel has a happy hour for the special guests, and we took full advantage of it. and then one of the guy's and i watched greek -omg! it was gooood! i can't wait for august. but while watching it we had like half the staff in my room, so it was pretty funny and everyone else was like whhhhat are you watching. and then we went to a bar across the street and they had pisco sours! they are a peruvian drink and roomie looooooooooved pisco sours when she studied abroad and would rave about them. one of my last days in ct, she finished her beloved bottle of pisco and made us some, and they were sooo yummy! so it was crazy fabulous to see them out in a bar, because you never find pisco in the states. so it was just hilarious conversation and some staff bonding!
and i have no idea what day of the week it is! since we started on a saturday, i keep thinking today is wednesday, but nope. only monday!
