i guess my life isn't boring

so talking to a friend when asked what i was doing friday night, i said nothing.. my life is boring.. when he reminded me saturday night that my life is far from boring as i was in nyc with a friend and that 3 of the last 4 weekends i had been to philly, connecticut and md/dc and now i was in nyc. so i guess yea, while i sometimes think my life might be boring i guess that is far from reality.

i had a fabulous saturday, i took the train into the city and met a high school friend for lunch. suz and i both have an ireland connection and she is my oldest friend, i've known her since 2nd grade when i moved to where i am now. there were times where we weren't friends and we'll never be super close, but she is one of two people i actively kept in touch since high school. i quickly saw her in august over the summer, and so it was nice to catch up with her and talk about people and everything. we spent two hours talking and catching up.

then i went to the met. i enjoyed walking around looking at art and just loving being in the city. i walked a bit around the renaissance, then through the american section, which was actually all material culture - the furniture, and they had different rooms from houses from the 1700s to late 1800s. and i enjoyed walking through that section. i was trying to find a temporary exhibit on work in everyday american in the 19th century but i got distracted and ended up on the roof for an amazing special exhibit maelstrom an amazing sculpture on the garden roof of the met. and i was up there for sunset - gorgeous! and then strolled through the modern art and also the temple of dendur.

now the real reason why i went into the city was my friend from college is an aspiring jewelry designer and her and her friends were having a show. and it was so much fun to finally get to see her pieces and to see her! and today was also her birthday, so it was fun to be at the show and then to go out to dinner with her and her friends. it was a fabulous day :)

i was sick last week, nothing too bad. just a cold. boo.

and went out with my fellow first year teachers and talked about life for 3 hours and it was fabulous.

off to finish getting ready for this week. but it is a short week 2.5 days! yay! and then going into the city again for the thanksgiving day parade :)
