So yay Alabama! I am loving it down here and this conference was interesting! Buuut today I won't be heading into Birmingham to explore, despite most museums and such being closed on Monday. In a few minutes I'm heading to the airport to pick up a car and drive to Mississi to pick up my sister.
She recently moved to Alabama, about 2 hours north of Birmingham and was driving to New Orleans to see friends. And merlin her car broke down. And it doesn't look good for merlin. Sooo luckily for her I'm 2 hours away from where she is stuck. So I'm heading to meridian, miss to pick her up. So the good news is I'm going to another new state! Haha, I'm kinda crazy right now with all my states!
So Birmingham was fun, the kids were interesting and I loved the weather. Each meal we went and sat outside by the pool and enjoyed the 80 degree weather. Being inside the rest of the day was horrible. My group was kinda crazy, one of the loudest, chattiest I've had. But I did do an amazing workshop on diversity, with another group. And it reminded me how I love what I do. And that words are powerful and you never know what might hurt someone.
So had a great time Wednesday night with m. We went out to dinner and then out for a few drinks and just laughed and talked for hours. It was sooo nice to see him and was glad that it worked out where we got to see each other. We'll both be in nj this week though, so that is exciting.
Ok, off to start my Mississippi adventure!
