mississippi

so as i previously mentioned i had a little adventure earlier this week, instead of playing in birmingham i rented a car on monday morning and drove across the border to meridian, mississippi to pick up my sister whose car broke down there. so i spent a LONG time in the car driving across alabama to pick her up. luckily i'm in the south so i had many different country radio stations to choose from, which made time go by faster. i drove 550 miles in 24 hours. as you can see from the map the purple is me going to pick her up, the pink is the drive to where she lives and the green is me back to the airport. but it was fun!

 i enjoyed driving and seeing signs for places that seem so far away from where i live. and honestly i couldn't complain because it was 80 and sunny! and it makes for a funny story.

so here is my sister and merlin - her car in mississippi. we had fun bonding in the car ride and laughing,me making her entertain me and such. and because well i'm crazy. i made my sister go back into mississippi so we could get sign pictures. i tried as i crossed into mississippi, but i missed. so i needed to go back, and luckily she just went with it. (i made amy do this when we went to maine this summer too) so here are the state welcome signs!

     

yay! 2 new states!

so as we're driving i see i sign for tuscaloosa - and i'm like i think university of alabama is here. we drive a mile and see a sign for it. so we decide to take a little detour. i love visiting colleges when i drive places. i've been to a ton on my adventures! so we had fun driving around - gorgeous campus! and found our respective sorority houses and just enjoyed the fabulous day. 

                

ROLL TIDE!

as we were there we both thought about what it would have been like going to a school that big. and decided little brother would go to college there.

so then we continued on our way up to the middle of nowhere alabama where she lives. she lives 20 minutes from both georgia and tennessee. and in the mountains. it was very pretty!

so i said goodbye to her and then went back to birmingham to catch my flight back to jersey. it was good to see my sister and i was glad i could help her when she was freaking out. but i was sad to leave behind the 80 and sunny weather i'd had in the south because this is what i woke up to on wednesday morning.

so just enjoying the artic weather in new jersey right now. but OMG excited for friday night!

my dad and i were joking over the phone about tickets to the ncaa basketball games in newark on sunday and it got me thinking. my dad is a huge north carolina fan - and i am one too. so when i got home tuesday night i decided to look up ticket prices... and i was crazy to do this. so i said to my dad you wanna go? so within the next hour or so my dad and i bought tickets to go see the NORTH CAROLINA/marquette and then the kentucky/ohio state games. i paid $250 for each ticket (i know i'm crazy) but it was just one of those things. my dad went years ago with his father when it was in the meadowlands and saw carolina play and so now we're doing it. YAYYAYAYAY!
