climbing

had a fabulous evening yesterday :)

i went climbing at the old head of kinsale with a few of the lads in the club and it was so much fun!
it was the first time climbing outside for the summer and it was a gorgeous evening.
i have also never been to the old head, and it is a so pretty and also some great climbing and it is only about 45 minutes from cork. so i'm pretty excited for the summer and climbing.

i climbed 4 routes all about the same difficulity and they were cool. the rock on the cliffs here are different than the other two places i've climbed in ireland, and there were almost no holds, just lots of cracks and groves in the rock. so most of the places where i was sticking my hands were only a few centimeters and the same with my feet, so the only thing that actually hurt was my toes and feet after climbing, because i on such weird angles. haha, oh well. i enjoyed the climbing and the guys were great fun, plus there was a gorgeous sunset, so as we were climbing the sky started to get pink and it was gorgeous for about 2 hours and it was soo vibrant and bright pink. i looove that it isn't getting dark until about 9.30 right now! we also saw some seals splashing around in the water too. i can't wait to go back and do more climbing!

the rest of the week was good too, didn't really do too much, just work on the thesis, typing notes, work and hanging out with kara. wednesday we went into the city centre, ran some errands and then spent the afternoon in a coffee shop working, which was fun. i also decided to alphabetize my source list, which was 11 pages half typed/half written of sources in random order, so i now have a 12 page, in order list of the 152 sources i have. and i also updated my read/photocopied/notes for the sources. and i've done a lot more work then i've realized, i've read 105 of the sources and notes on 62 of the sources. so i have 4 books on irish women in great britain to read and notes today, and i'm going to the library to print out the notes tomorrow and get organized, so i can hopefully start writing early this week. yay! so em, the word count is at 0, but i need to get the majority of the notes organized before i start writing, but once i start writing it won't take long to write each chapter of my rough draft out. my organizational process is time consuming, but it works for me and makes it easier for me to write. i now just need to find a large table to spread out all of my notes on...

so yea, nothing else too interesting in my life, just the thesis. which i have a feeling will be the story for the two months.
