history.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

i am so ready for today!

i woke up this morning all excited and giddy.
it is such an amazing day.
i can't wait to watch the actual inauguration.

in a few more hours barack obama will be the president of the united states of america.

i have been waiting 8 years for this day.
almost 1/3 of my life.

it is crazy because for pretty much most of my political awareness it has been george bush as president and finally now it is the dawn on a new era.

i've had the webcams on the capital on my computer all morning, and it has been pretty crazy to see how throughout the day the place has filled up, i turned it on when i came into the office after 9 (4am in dc) and now when it is about 2 hours until.

i'm just overwhelmed with pride and emotions right now.

i can't wait to watch this!!

I watched it on CNN's page this morning. I kept sending all the office calls to voicemail so I wouldn't get distracted. I mean, work can wait. This... THIS is important stuff!!

i feel for you! i agree, just as I was becoming politically aware, george bush came to power. I only knew enough at that point to know that tehre had been a massive collosal fuck up in democracy, if only everyone knew then what we know now.

We had a similar thing goinmg on in Australia, at least until 1 year ago. The prime minister before the current one was in for 12 years! More than HALF of my life back then...
