10 years

16 year old erin
so i have a confession to make... i've been blogging for 10 years now. i started back in june 2001 and here i am 10 years later in 2011 and still blogging. i've been able to go back and read through a majority of those 10 years of my life and it really makes me laugh. the old entries from my junior and senior years of high school are absolutely hilarious and well i'm preserving my self dignity by not posting anything from back then.

the number one reason why i love blogging is that i am able to go back and read about the little things in my life and see where i've been and what at the time i thought was important. i've also kept a written journal for bits of time through all of this too, as well as my photo 365 blogs which i've done. i guess the historian in me loves that i'm leaving behind something and a while ago i found a website that transfers blogs into pdf's so one day i plan to print it out - but i know just from 2001-2008 it is over 800 pages... and i've written a lot since then. i need to print out my photo 365 for each year i've done it as well.

25 year old erin
but the fact i've been blogging for 10 years is crazy to me. i don't think i've done anything for 10 years, so the fact that i've kept up with blogging on a regular basis for that long is kinda awesome. who knows how long i'll keep on blogging but i'm going to be continuing to do it while i enjoy it and using it as a platform to help remember my life and to continue to make friends. i've enjoyed the friendships i've made blogging and getting to meet my fellow bloggers has been so much fun!

so i'd love today to get to know more of the people who read my crazy babble. so tell me why you blog and i can't wait to check out the blogs of those of you who i haven't talked to yet!

and how is today the last day of june?

10 years is an amazing run so far!! That's great! I would love to be able to read about what was going through my head when I was 16!

I blog because it helps me work through everything going on in my life. It helps me destress. I also love it now, that I can look back and see my progress in how I've grown as a person. I am a totally different person from who I was 3 years ago!

That's amazing!

I've been blogging on and off since 2004. For me, blogging has become my journal. I have TONS of diaries/notebooks that I wrote in ever since I was a little girl, but once I learned to type and got better at that, it made sense to have everything on a computer. My blog's basically my journal - I just write about whatever's on my mind and so on. I started a food blog in May, although I haven't had much time for that yet. Hopefully I'll be able to be more proactive about that one in the future! :)

oh i remember 16 year old erin. and i remember reading 16 year old erin's blog :)

i'm glad you've kept up your blog. it keeps me in touch with you even if we don't get to talk as often as we should and certainly don't get to see each other as often as we should.

Congrats on hitting the 10-year mark blogging!

A friend of mine had her blog printed and bound in a book (and I believe she did each year in its own book). If youre interested, FB message me and I will get the website for you.

Ten years is pretty impressive!! I blogged a little bit in college, about nine years ago, but now I can't even remember the link. I wish I still had all of those entries! I never thought I'd stick with blogging for as long as I have, but I love it and can't imagine not having this record of my life. Good luck printing out your blog! That's been on my list of things to do for a while and I haven't gotten around to it yet!
