phone calls

yay for phone calls to boston!
it just totally made my day!
today is kaity's birthday, and last night was a big surprise party in boston for her, and i tried to call last night but no one answered their phones, so luckily i was able to call now!
i just got to talk to 4 of my favourite people, and i miss them sooo much!
it was abfab to talk to them and joke around and sing happy birthday and ahhh, i wish i could be there.
so yay for that, because it totally made my week!

in other news, first hike of the term, it was fun :)
we went to knockmealdowns in co. waterford/tipperary.
it was a good hike despite the looming weather forecast.
it was pouring when i woke up,and stopped raining by the time i walked over.
i was surprised to see a bunch of new people when i got there, especially with the weather.
luckily it only rained the first 15 minutes.
it was fun, an easy hike, lots of fog, some hail.
it was nice to be out of the city and outside :)
after the hike, some good craic in youghal and then in the thirsty scholar.
and now a wet bag to empty out.

lots of climbing last week.
wednesday night was great craic, i did a hard overhang, and did ok on the purples and was shit on the greens.
i hate that route, it has been driving me crazy since october, i will get it, eventually.
i got soaked walking to the wall, it was lashing out.
only a few went to the pub, which was fun, lots of talking.
the brog after was fun, lots of political discussions over the nh primary. it was interesting.

thursday kara and i saw ps. i love you.
cried through the entire thing, which i knew i would after reading the book.
movie was pretty good (if you didn't read the book) but the irish male accents were horrible!
were there no available irish actors? seriously?
liked the book about a million times better, but it was fun :)

friday, after work met up with kara to walk to the city centre, where we ran errands.
i bought a christmas present of new hiking boots! YAY!
they are very fun and it was so nice to really have dry feet today, not just sorta dry feet.
then we had hot chocolate at o'conails.
i went climbing, where i did pretty good.
then the pub with denis, dave, geroid and phillip.
good fun and conversation.

saturday i read all day.
a fun kathy kelly novel then for my immigration class.
which i looove the readings for.
i <3>
