may day

happy may day!

may day just makes me think of wac. the day of drunken nakedness.
wac is known for may day - the urban dictionary defines washington college as:

A small liberal arts college on the Eastern shore of Maryland where the rich and not so famous send their children to get a good education while learning life lessons of booze and sex. Particular known for its May Day (May 1st) festivities when the campus strips their cloths and reports to the College green and flag pole for a midnight congregation of the nude. Washington college where smart kids go to drink and screw four years away.

my favourite may day was freshman year, it was like wow this really happens. may 1st was a saturday, and friday was a reading day, so we started drinking early and just celebrating our first year of college then a party over at j's with some hilarious berries bpong. then making our way down to the green and it was just crazy. people everywhere, then you see the first streaker, then people everywhere joining. it was crazy. saturday was a gorgeous day, outside on kent circle people were playing frisbee naked, playing the guitar, and it was like this all over the green as well. saturday night was another huge party night and sunday was amy's birthday, complete with a pinata and a decorated room and then playing at the playground. such a fabulous weekend!

sophomore year was fun. war on the shore, then the crew banquet then a some fun in reid with the girls and pink drinks, before heading over to the crew party and then to the flagpole to laugh at the crazyness. junior year i didn't participate because of crew and i had been in gettysburg all day with the cv starr centre and had to be up at 5.30 am for the high school. but i went over for a few minutes and then heard the celebrations out of my window. and last year i also couldn't drink because of crew, but went down to the flagpole for a laugh and see the crowd.


so i'm at work, it is pretty quiet, so i'm typing up notes. i was productive yesterday and went to my favourite coffee shop tribes and sat and read all afternoon and wrote out an outline. so i feel a lot better, breaking it into smaller bits and assigning approx word counts for each chapter, breaking it into smaller papers, which i can do. i need to look over my list of sources and see if there is anything else i need to get from the library right now especially for the first chapter, and then read and photocopy. right now i am typing up notes, which is extremely boring, but helpful.
went climbing and to the pub last night, it was fun :)

going out with kara tonight and then doing thesis work for the weekend, monday is off because of a bank holiday, so i'm going to a barbecue. should be a good few days!
